R.E.M.'s song Nightswimming, I think is a love song. It is very low key and intimate. The song reflects being close with another and being intimate. Stipe also portrays the ideas of a womens mysteriousness and of the powers of being in love. I never really thought about the lyrics until I actually read them even though I know them by heart. Overall, Nightswimming is a very calm song that describes the deeper meaning of love and love be sacred.
